The ANC Youth League's national working committee (NWC) will visit its structures in Mpumalanga on Wednesday.

This was part of the NWC's assessment of the state of the ANCYL and its readiness for branch, regional, and provincial congresses, spokeswoman Khusela Sangoni-Khawe said in a statement.

The NWC had already visited Limpopo, Free State, and the Northern Cape.

After Limpopo, the ANCYL would visit KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, and Eastern Cape.

Once all the visits had been concluded, a report would be compiled, she said.

The youth league has been working on its weaknesses with the help of the African National Congress top leadership.

The two met in January to discuss various issues.

Delegates at the ANC's elective conference in Mangaung in December resolved that the incoming NEC should meet with the ANCYL to sort out issues between the two.

The ANCYL has also been without a permanent leader since Julius Malema was expelled from the party last year. Deputy president Ronald Lamola has led the ANCYL since then. - Sapa
