Cape Town – The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Western Cape handed a memorandum over to the Democratic Alliance on Friday, demanding an end to racism.
The ANCYL, along with its alliance partners, marched on the DA federal offices in Mill Street, Cape Town.

The march was in response to the recent Zuma Must Fall billboard which was illegally erected in Cape Town.
“We know you are dreaming of an Arab Spring against the democratically-elected government,” said ANCYL national secretary Njabulo Nzuza.

“At the core of this dirty campaign to remove a sitting democratically-elected government is to entrench ‘white supremacy’ by the rightwing-liberal forces who have not internalised our democracy.”
The ANCYL also said the march was to demand the DA end its racist ways.
“The current structure of the Western Cape, in particular, still reflects, in all material respects, the foundation and development of the apartheid past,” said Nzuza.
According to the ANCYL, the DA-led provincial and local government had demonstrated the “worst brutality” against working class youth through “shoddy delivery of services”, thereby perpetuating the inequalities of the past.
In this regard, the ANCYL demanded the DA “stop the unequal distribution of services” and fully eradicate the bucket system.
