Durban – Outgoing African Union Commission chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma received her strongest endorsement in KwaZulu-Natal that she should succeed her former husband, President Jacob Zuma as the leader of the African National Congress.
Thanduxulo Sabelo, the ANC Youth League’s KwaZulu-Natal secretary speaking at a political rally in KwaMashu where Dlamini-Zuma was the key note speaker, he said: “What we are saying as the ANC Youth League is that we are ready for a woman president. She is heading 54 African states. What is a country? Really?”
He said that the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal was leading the charge to ensure that women filled key positions.
“We believe, even the ANC, not only in government can be led by a woman.”
