Cape Town - The EFF has swopped its warcry, be it just for Sunday, for the language of love. The party took to Twitter on Saturday to urge its supporters to wear their signature red gear and to show affection.

The tweet read: “All fighters must be in red gear, be in love, show love because we own the colour red.

“We are dangerously in love #EFFShirtsForLove.”

It appeared the EFF was referring to the Beyoncé song, Dangerously in Love. In the lyrics, Beyoncé professes to being so deeply in love she cannot live without the object of her affection.

And like the song’s chorus of “uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, oh no no”, the party did not stop the schmooze.

It followed up that tweet with another hearty message: “#LoveAndRevolution: red for both danger and love, let’s all be in EFF T-shirts to show we are dangerously in love.”

Beyoncé’s powers of persuasion also benefited US restaurant chain Red Lobster. In her latest single, Formation, released last Friday, she sings that after an intimate moment with her man she would take him to Red Lobster.

Such is the power of love for the singer, the Associated Press reported that sales at the chain had increased by 33 percent since the song’s release.
