Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma has declared an official provincial funeral for Limpopo agriculture and rural development MEC Joy Matshoge, who died in a car crash last weekend.

“Ms Matshoge will be remembered for her sterling commitment in advancing the lives of people in the Limpopo province as a member of the executive council,” the presidency said in a statement.

Zuma, on behalf of government and all South Africans, had conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Matshoge family and the provincial government.

“President Zuma has ordered that national flag at all flag stations in the Limpopo province be flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral, 2 July 2016 [Saturday]. The provincial government will communicate details of the funeral,” the presidency said.
