The holy man who said he’d never say sorry for saying all white people should be killed has made a U-turn and apologised.

Reverend Kemo Immanuel Waters caused a stir on Twitter when he tweeted in the early hours of Saturday morning: “The only way to end racism is to kill a material number of whites. @helenzille your indifferent and patronising stance is a double dare… ”

Waters, who runs a business called the KemoTherapy Institute of Truth describes himself as a DJ, preacher, author, poet, father and truth seeker.

The self-proclaimed preacher came under fire on the social networking site and even Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr also took on Waters saying: “… lobotomise the envy-sick black reverends & leaders”.

Walters then accused Hofmeyr of having a “racist soul” and said that the song De la Rey was his “bedtime lullaby”.

Waters initially refused to apologise or back down from his comments but by late on Tuesday afternoon he changed his mind and tweeted: “I accept all consequences of my unfortunate tweet, including threats to my life. I apologize to those who may have been offended by my vent.”

Hours later he said on his twitter profile: “The point of my tweet was to expose the frustration felt by a lot of black South Africans, not to incite murder or violent attack.”
