JOhannesburg - The time has come to rebuild Agang SA from the roots up to successfully contest the 2016 local elections and the 2019 national elections, party leader Dr Mamphele Ramphele said on Friday.

“Part of the rebuilding process will involve an audit of membership at branch membership to ensure regional leaders elected a provincial elective conferences to be held ahead of a national conference later this year are properly mandated,” she said in a statement.

“I fully expect there will be several suspensions from the party as information has come to light about activities of some members of the party who have chosen to indulge in selfish and self-centred behaviour when what we need to do is rebuild the party and remain faithful to the principles our voters voted for,” said Ramphele.

She said those who tarnished her reputation as president would be disciplined.

“Action to be taken against individuals will be communicated to them directly through proper channels.

“Anyone who continues to participate in these factional activities, including meetings not sanctioned by my office will define themselves as acting outside the interest of Agang and will be treated accordingly,” said Ramphele. - Sapa
