Johannesburg - Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Des van Rooyen is allegedly following in President Jacob Zuma's footsteps in bringing an urgent court application to stall outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's state capture report.
According to a News24 report, Van Rooyen's application will be heard by the High Court in Pretoria on Friday at 10 am. President Zuma has applied to the same court to interdict Madonsela from releasing her report. Zuma's application will be heard on Tuesday.
Madonsela's report was set to be released on Friday, the same day that she steps down from her role as Public Protector.
