Durban - The defence in the trial against the man who allegedly caused the car crash that killed Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere and a friend argued that a mechanical failure was the cause of the crash.
Defence witness IBF Investigations chief reconstruction expert, Stanley Bezuidenhout, showed an image he told the court demonstrated that Preshalin Naidoo’s vehicle was in an abnormal state when the crash occurred.
It showed there was a nut missing on the vehicle, which could have caused a mechanical failure in the steering wheel. The case was postponed to March 6 in the Randburg Magistrates Court.
