There are serious concerns for Caster Semenya's mental and emotional state following leaked results that she is a hermaphrodite.

IOL has asked readers to show their support for Caster - and there has been an outpouring of emotion.

Take heart that we are all part of this wonderful universe and are all unique. Love who you are always, be proud of who you are and your achievements. We are all one, and the one is all. We support you with love, kindness and compassion. Be strong, for the human kind is not and often fears just for the sake of fear alone. With love, Sam

Phoenix:

Dear Caster, You are perfect - from that enviable physique to that stunning smile - the good lord made you just the way you're supposed to be. Hold onto your faith, surround yourself with those who truly love you and let this just pass you by like a storm. At the end you'll still be standing, beautiful and perfect.

If politicians would just stay out of sport this situation would never have arisen, its a bit late to say shame and try to cover everything thing up. She/he should not been allowed to compete until the facts were clear. This is the fault of everyone invilved in athletics including the trainer with years of corrupt experience

Caster, we ex South Africans in Canada are bursting with pride at your achievements. Unfortunately, when one is in the limelight and you enjoy everyone's love and support, there are always those who try and bring you down because they are envious of your achievements. Please try and put them in that category and continue showing the world what you are capable of. When there are criticisms, just know that your number of fans far outnumber them. Wishing you continued success....

Vivienne:

I wish you the strength to get through this and hold your head high. Be proud of what you have achieved because you worked for it and you deserve it. My love and support go out to you.

White Christian:

Don't let the world get to you... run like the wind with the love of Jesus surrounding you... egos and jealousy are ugly things, you can stand tall girlfriend... we love you, your family loves you... We stand with you and you are in our prayers..

Totally inappropriate journalism and most unsportsman like.Caster deserves her privacy.I pray that shhe will be redeemed and back on the track winner in style and grace. For me she is a true South African track star.I am colour blind.

Proud South African:

As a proud south african I am deeply disappointed at the support this person and what Atheletics South Africa has done. It is not exciting to see someone more man than woman competing on the world stage against females. It does not make me proud to see the ASA ignoring instructions from the IAAF NOT to allow Caster to run in Berlin. We should be collectively hanging our heads in shame at this debacle.
