King William’s Town – Five people died in a head-on collision between two cars near Weza village at Willowvale on Saturday night, Eastern Cape police said.
The one car was travelling from the direction of Dutywa and the other from Willowvale, Captain Jackson Manatha said on Sunday.
Three men in one of the cars and a woman in the other died on the scene. Another man died later in Butterworth Hospital. Two other men were also admitted to Butterworth Hospital. It could not be established whether the drivers were among the dead.
“The cause of the accident is not known at this point in time but under police investigation. The ages of the deceased and injured could not be established,” Manatha said.
