Ladybrand – Two people were killed and three were injured in a head-on collision on the N8 about 30km from Ladybrand in the Free State on Friday night, paramedics said.
Shortly after 9pm, paramedics from local provincial services and ER24 arrived on the scene where they found two vehicles had collided head-on, ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said on Saturday.
“Two adults were found in one of the vehicles with fatal injuries. There was nothing that paramedics could do for them and they were declared dead by the provincial services.”
Three people were found with moderate injuries in the second vehicle. They were assessed and treated on the scene before they were transported to Ladybrand Provincial Hospital for further care. Police attended the scene and would conduct an investigation, he said.
