Johannesburg - A man sustained critical injuries when he crashed his car into a bridge pillar in Midrand, Johannesburg on Thursday, reported paramedics.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the accident occurred on Allandale Road, between the K101 and Alsatian Road.

“The man was airlifted to hospital.”

Bodasing said the patient was trapped in the car, and was freed by paramedics.

The exact cause of the accident was unknown.
