Linklsfield, Johannesburg -

A man died when a light delivery vehicle drove into the back of a tanker truck on the Johannesburg N3 under the Linksfield Road bridge on Monday afternoon, paramedics said.

Paramedics arrived to find the driver of the delivery van critically injured and his passenger dead, said Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann.

The injured man was immobilised and treated on the scene before being airlifted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. - Sapa
