One dead as truck lands on Gautrain line

Johannesburg - A truck driver has reportedly been killed after his vehicle crashed through cement barriers onto the Gautrain line between Pretoria and Hatfield on Wednesday afternoon.

The truck reportedly lost control and crashed through the barriers, landing on the train tracks.

Accoprding to Tshwane EMS, the driver was killed and one other person was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

According to EWN, an emergency services spokesperson said the truck would be on the tracks for at least two more hours as they try to remove the driver’s body from the wreckage.

Bus services would transport commuters between Pretoria and Hatfield.
