Johannesburg - A woman was killed and 15 people injured when a taxi collided with another vehicle in the Johannesburg CBD on Wednesday, paramedics said.

“A wrecked taxi lay on its side while another vehicle lay crushed up against a shop wall,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.

The woman died on the scene.

“Fifteen other occupants from both vehicles lay around the scene, their injuries ranging from minor to critical.”

The accident happened at the Nugget and President roads intersection.
