Johannesburg - The water supply was restored to parts of Roodepoort on Monday afternoon, Johannesburg Water said.

Technicians had fixed a pipe which burst on Sunday night, spokeswoman Millicent Kabwe said.

“The work is complete. That is what we can confirm now.”

Weltevreden Park and Constantia Kloof were left without water on Monday morning. If residents had no water by 4pm it was because of bigger pipes that still had to pump water.

“Our pipes are big, so if residents do not have water it is just a matter of time, they will get water as it is running into the pipes now.” - Sapa
