Two people were injured when a helicopter crashed at Grand Central Airport in Midrand on Friday, emergency workers said.

The two, a father and son, were in a serious but stable condition, Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.

“It's believed the helicopter had been trying to land when it crashed and came to rest on its side.”

“The South African Civil Aviation Authority is investigating,” he said. – Sapa
