Benoni - Two people were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a lamp pole and caught alight on the corner of Celia Nestadt and Strokroos Streets in Benoni on Sunday morning, ER24 said in a statement.
It’s believed the driver lost control of his vehicle, before it hit the lamp post, rolled, and caught alight.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the vehicle engulfed in flames,” the paramedic service said.
“Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the fire. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for the people in the vehicle. They were declared dead.”
