Durban - Eighteen people were injured when a taxi and a bakkie collided at the intersection of Inanda and Willowfield roads in Springfield Park, Durban, on Friday, paramedics said.

The injured were stabilised and were taken to various Durban hospitals, said ER24 spokesman Garrith Jamieson.

“It is unclear what caused the collision. However, it is alleged that an errant party jumped the red phase of the robot,” Jamieson said.

Police were investigating.
