Durban - A biker was killed in a collision with a truck on the N2 at the King Shaka off-ramp north of Durban on Tuesday morning.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said paramedics arrived on scene and found debris from the bike strewn about 90m from where the crash occurred.

He added paramedics found the bike on fire. The truck stopped about 100m up the roadway.

It is understood that the bike collided into the rear of a heavy goods vehicle, but police are investigating the exact cause of the incident.

The biker likely died on impact, Botha said.
