Durban - Thirty-eight people were injured in three separate minibus taxi accidents in Durban on Wednesday, paramedics said.

In the first accident 11 people in a minibus taxi were injured when it collided with a car in an intersection in Glennwood around 7am, Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said.

Around 8am another 11 people were hurt when their minibus taxi left the road and careened down an embankment in Marianhill, near Pinetown.

Shortly before 11am 16 people were injured when their minibus overturned and rolled several times on the M4 South.

“Two lanes were closed on the busy highway while emergency personal worked to clear the scene.”

The injured were also taken to various hospitals.
