Durban - About 40 people were injured Monday morning after two buses collided at the M25 and North Coast Road intersection in Redhill, KwaZulu Natal, ER24 said.

Paramedics and numerous other emergency services, arrived on the scene and found the two buses in the middle of the road, said Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesman.

One of the buses had its roof completely ripped off in the collision.

“On assessment, paramedics found that a least 30 to 40 people had been injured in this collision. Most of the patients were found walking around on the scene, or seated next to their vehicles,” said Meiring.

Paramedics treated injured passengers before taking them to hospital.

“The exact number of patients is not yet known due to the number of services on scene. Traffic is heavily affected in the area due to the collision.”
