Johannesburg - A 48-year-old man was killed Monday morning after his bakkie rolled multiple times on Thabo Mbeki Drive in Potchefstroom, ER24 said.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics received the emergency call at 09h15 and immediately responded. Upon arrival, paramedics found the wrecked vehicle upright on the side of the road.

“It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a residence wall and roll multiple times, ejecting the driver,” said Meiring.

Paramedics found the driver lying on the ground near his vehicle. Meiring said the man showed no signs of life.

“ER24 paramedics initiated CPR and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Unfortunately, after 35 minutes, no vital sings returned and the patient was declared dead on scene,” said Meiring.

Local authorities were investigating.
