Johannesburg - Flight Centre South Africa reports that none of its clients have been directly affected by Monday’s bombing in Bangkok, Thailand. However, it has advised all visitors to the city to take care.

Andrew Stark, managing director of Flight Centre South Africa, said: “We have received word from our Australian colleagues that all our guests in Bangkok are safe and well, and were not in the vicinity of the explosion when it occurred.”

He added: “We advise guests to take care and to avoid the vicinity of the explosion. We are also advising them to steer clear of government buildings for now. They will notice heightened security at tourist spots in Bangkok. It’s not necessary for them to avoid all the popular tourist attractions, but heed any instructions of the city’s security personnel.”

Flight Centre’s operations will continue as normal in Thailand. No tours have been cancelled or postponed, and the usual levies will apply for any person who cancels or postpones a reservation.

“Anyone who has planned a Bangkok holiday with Flight Centre and who has concerns about their safety is welcome to contact one of our agents to discuss their concerns,” says Stark.
