The SABC's head of legal services, Mafika Sihlali, has asked the Johannesburg High Court to stop the public broadcaster's board from meeting to discuss his future, SABC news reported on Friday.

Friday marks the SABC deadline for Sihlali to defend himself against allegations of fraud to the amount of R1,8-million.

The fraud allegations stem from an internal SABC audit report handed to group CEO Dali Mpofu, which recommended Sihlali be suspended and criminally charged, SABC news reported. - Sapa
