A 19-year-old pilot and his passenger were killed on Saturday when a light plane crashed and caught flames in Iswepe outside Piet Retief, Mpumalanga police said.
Spokesperson Superintendent Abie Khoabane said the two-seater plane crashed onto an electric pole on the pilot's farm at 11am, instantly killing the two men on-board.
The pilot and his 25-year-old employee were flying around over the farm when the accident occurred at 11am, said Khoabane.
He said their names could not be released. - Sapa
