Well-groomed and radiant, the attractive young woman wears a stylish black skirt and pink top.

With purple streaks in her black hair, the petite 21-year-old - the latest woman embroiled in Orlando Pirates captain Benedict Vilakazi's troubled private life - looks every bit the hairdresser she is.

Despite the fact that she's indoors, she wears dark shades - with good reason.

As she sits on the dark-grey sofa of her home in the south of Johannesburg, she takes off the shades to reveal two black eyes.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, also has serious bruises to her body and a graze to her head.

She said that her injuries were sustained after she was allegedly attacked by Motshabi Judicious Vilakazi, 21, wife of the Bucs captain, outside the Vilakazis' Naturena home on Saturday.

The Bafana Bafana star is facing a charge of raping a girl aged 15 at her Rosettenville home on January 27.

Vilakazi was granted bail of R10 000 this week and will appear in court again on March 31.

His wife, though, will appear in court before him, after the hairdresser laid a charge of assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm against Mrs Vilakazi on Monday at the Mondeor police station.

She obtained a medical report listing her injuries, and she submitted it to the police.

Motshabi handed herself over to the police the next day.

She was ordered to appear in the Booysens magistrate's court on Wednesday, where she was granted bail of R1 000.

She was not asked to plead, and the case was postponed until March 15.

The woman alleges she was assaulted by Motshabi, who accused her of having an affair with Benedict.

She, however, denies that she had been romantically linked to Vilakazi, who she alleges was present when she was beaten up by Motshabi.

"I have my boyfriend, and Tso (Benedict) knows him."

I work at the hair salon and it is frequented by most of the celebs around here," the victim said.

She said Benedict stood there watching while his wife was attacking her, but refused to divulge any further details.

Regarding the rape cloud hanging over his head, Vilakazi said in an affidavit prepared by his lawyers that he was a "peace-loving, soft-spoken citizen" who had never committed a rape.

"I have no idea why I was arrested. In my view the state has no case against me at all."

- In one of The Star's editions on Thursday it was reported that Motshabi Vilakazi assaulted the 15-year-old who has accused her husband of rape.

This is incorrect. The Star apologises for the error.
