Cape Town - A charter boat carrying about 50 people capsized in Hout Bay, Cape Town on Saturday afternoon, the National Sea and Rescue Institute said.
The charter boat was near Duiker Island when it capsized at about 3pm, NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon said.
NSRI rescuers as well as several other charter boats managed to rescue many of the people who had fallen into the sea.
“Some of the people have been injured and CPR efforts are being conducted on some of (them),” Lambinon said.
He said authorities were asking the public to stay away from Hout Bay while rescue operations were ongoing. - Sapa
