Cape Town – Had Tata Madiba been alive, he’d be a great-grandpa again.

Nelson Mandela’s eldest grandson, Mandla Mandela, 42 and his fourth wife, Rabia Clarke, 24, are expecting their first baby.

Mandla posted two pictures on Instagram of two pregnancy tests . Both tests showed two pink lines, an indication of a positive pregnancy test.

He captioned the pic: “Alhamdulillah”, which means praise God’ in Arabic.

Mandla and the Cape Town beauty married in a traditional Muslim nikah ceremony a year ago on Monday. He reportedly converted to Islam ahead of their nuptials.

The baby news comes as a surprise after his first wife, Tando Mabunu-Mandela, in 2012 claimed Mandla was infertile.

She filed papers in the Mthatha High Court claiming Mandla skiet blanks (he's in infertile). Their marriage was annulled.

His second marriage, to Anais Grimaud, of Reunion, came to a halt after an alleged affair she had with his younger brother Mbuso. As a result, Mandla said he was not the father of their son, Qheya II Zanethemba Mandela. The marriage was also ended.

Mabunu-Mandela reportedly made the claim in a replying affidavit in an action to nullify Mandela’s third marriage to Nkosikazi Nodiyala-Mandela.

But that marriage was also declared null and void by a court.

Many were excited that the Mvezo chief will be adding a new member to the AbaThembu clan.

TV personality Bridget Masinga also commented saying: “This is NOT how you break our news though Kanti you are how??? A cute baby bootie or a baby dummy so much cuter not a pee stick.”

Mandela responded: “Just something to get the day started Queen @bridgetmasinga I’ve got something coming soon soon.”
