Cape Town – Melomed Mitchells Plain celebrated a memorable Easter when it helped deliver its first ever set of triplets, since the hospital’s inception.
The three girls; baby Akhona, Aphelele and Aphiwe were born to a Khayelitsha mother of two, Dorcas Voyi aged 34.
The triplets were delivered on Friday afternoon.
Baby Akhona was born at 12:05pm weighing 2.020kg, hot on her heels was Aphelele born just a minute after her weighing 2.005kg and the youngest one, Aphiwe, popped weighing 2.035kg at 12:07pm.
The little Easter babies are still being cared for at the hospital, but their mother has since been discharged.
