Cape Town - A Touwsrivier truck driver became an internet sensation after his Facebook post telling #FeesMustFall protesters “to stop their k*k” went viral.
And speaking to Daily Voice on Thursday, Josh Drizzy Bergh said he was shocked when he learned his post had gone viral.
In the post that has been viewed more than 700 000 times and shared by nearly 50 000 people, Bergh, 27, slams students for vandalising their institutions.
Former University of the Free State vice-chancellor Professor Jonathan Jansen also shared Bergh’s post, saying: “I rest my case. You, sir, are educated. Often wisdom comes from the most (extra) ordinary of citizens. Listen to this young man.”

Speaking in Afrikaans, with his tell-tale Boland "brei", Bergh says: “Hoe kan jy studeer vir ’n graad maar jy doen onnooslike dade?”
He also questions how students, “studying to be doctors and lawyers” expect fees to fall but they cause millions of rands of damage to varsities.
“Hoe de donner kan ons fees laat fall maar jy vandalise alles wat jy moet gebruik,” says a clearly exasperated Bergh.
“Jirre, julle is rêrig onnooslik… Ek stem nie saam met die k*k nie!”
He posted an English version of his rant on Thursday. “But since you guys don’t care about your universities I don’t care about my vernacular or my slang,” says Bergh.

He says students should be grateful for the privilege of higher education.
“Start appreciating what you have because you live in the greatest country ever and you have the best universities ever,” is Bergh’s message.
On Thursday Bergh told the Daily Voice: “I was scared of people’s reaction but somebody had to say it,.
Bergh, who dreams of studying drama and entertaining people, says he has been swamped by messages and is trying to reply to each one to show his appreciation.
In an interview with the Daily Voice, Professor Jansen described Bergh as “amazing” and adds: “For these sharp insight he deserves a degree!”
Jansen is currently in the USA but has pledged to try his best to help Bergh realise his dream to study.
