Two life sentences for month-long reign of terror

Cape Town – A 35-year-old Cape Town man who terrorised the Ocean View and Fish Hoek communities has been sentenced to two life sentences for a range of crimes, including the rape and murder of a 14-year-old boy.

Western Cape police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana said provincial detectives were happy after the Western Cape High Court this week imposed a heavy sentence on Mxolisi Rwanqa.

"Thirty five-year-old Mxolisi Rwanqa was sentenced in the Cape High Court this week to two life sentences for rape and murder of a 14-year-old Ocean View boy," Rwexana said.

"He was also sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the rape of a 26-year-old woman, five years for assault GBH, housebreaking and theft and two one-year sentences for separate house breaking and theft cases. All the offences were committed in September 2015."
