Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and wife Mantoa have welcomed their first child together.

Julius Malema took to instagram where he posted a picture of himself and his wife with a caption: “Mma Munzhedzi re a leboga‚ Modimo le Badimo ba leboloke”‚ which is roughly translated into “Munzhedzi’s mother we thank you‚ May god and the gods protect you”.

Their newborn child has been named Munzhedzi - a Venda name which means a self-starter or leader.

The couple made headlines when they tied the knot in December 2014 at a luxurious private ceremony in Malema’s home town of Seshego.

Malema already has a son‚ Ratanang‚ born from a relationship with Maropeng Ramohlale.
