Johannesburg - Video evidence showing a confrontation between striking Lonmin miners and police at Marikana will be reconstructed and shown to the Farlam Commission of Inquiry, the SABC reported on Tuesday.
The video, which is a few minutes long, shows the clash between the miners and the police before the shooting on August 16 last year.
It would be shown at the commission during the cross examination of Brigadier Adriaan Calitz, the public broadcaster reported.
He was the commander in charge of police on the day the shooting took place.
Calitz maintains that the initial operational plan designed to deal with the striking miners was changed because protesters broke the police line with the intention of attacking the police.
More technical cross-examination is continuing, with the lawyers representing the miners and their families waiting for their chance to cross-examine Calitz.
The August 16, 2012, shooting at Lonmin's platinum mine near Marikana, North West, left 34 miners dead and 78 wounded.
