Expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema is expected to address a public meeting in London on Tuesday, but he has refused to reveal any details of his visit.
The www.thesouthafrican.com website reported that Malema would address the meeting.
It reported that the PAC, an organiser of one of the events Malema was scheduled to speak at, said the meeting was postponed to Tuesday.
The SABC reported at the weekend that Malema and suspended league spokesman Floyd Shivambu were in London to speak to businesses and convince them to invest in SA.
Speaking from London on Monday, Malema refused to be drawn on details of his visit and who he was representing.
Malema said: “Look, I’m still in London, but I’m not reporting to you.”
A youth league national executive committee member, who asked not to be named, said the league was not behind Malema’s London visit.
“The Friends of the Youth League have got their own programme. But it’s difficult to tell if our current members are involved,” said the source.
Questions remain as to who is funding Malema’s London trip and speaking engagements, with some speculating that it was the Friends of the Youth League, a group set up after his expulsion.
ANC spokesman Keith Khoza said the party had not taken any decisions on the Friends of the Youth League.
The chairman of the London branch, Xolani Xala, said it had distanced itself from this visit.
