Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma launched the revamped Marabastad Refugee Centre on Friday morning, renamed after Desmond Tutu.

Zuma launched the Desmond Tutu Refugee Reception Centre after complaints from foreign nationals of long queues and alleged corruption.

Numerous self-extension machines were installed to help fast track the booking process for foreigners.

Zuma promised in his State of the Nation Address to revamp the refugee centre.

He also did a walk-about the the building where he was accompanied by Home Affairs officials including the Minister Malusi Gigaba.
