Johannesburg - A government employee was expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Thursday in connection with the death of a pregnant woman.

Quewin Coetzee, 30, faces charges of kidnapping, murder and escaping from custody.

Celeste Fraser-Carson, 28, was found buried in a shallow grave in the Bloemspruit area of the Free State on March 5.

Police said the discovery followed the arrest of a 30-year-old man in Graaff Reinet the previous day.

Fraser-Carson disappeared about three weeks before her body was found.

Photographs of the missing mother, who was expecting her second child, were pinned up in parts of the city and the case received extensive media coverage. - Sapa
