Model Doutzen Kroes
London - She already has the fashion world at her feet, but Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes is to be launched into a bigger orbit. She has been picked to go on the first commercial flight into space.
“My work has brought me to the most beautiful places on earth,” says the 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret model, who will face the countdown in 2014. “But apparently nothing is as beautiful as the view of the Earth from space.”
Doutzen isn’t simply a tourist, though - she’s reaching for the stars to help promote the HIV charity dance4life (a second ticket will be auctioned for a flight in July). She may be the fifth highest-paid model on the planet (making £4 million in 2010), but “curvy” Doutzen complains she is constantly being told to lose weight. So maybe this is a solution that doesn’t involve starvation? After all, 65 miles above the Earth, she’ll weigh absolutely nothing at all. - Daily Mail
