Boxing legend Phillip Ndou does not only use his vicious hand power to send people to canvas in the ring but also uses a knobkerrie outside the ring.

Three officials, Boxing South Africa (BSA) Gauteng manager Arhchie Nyingwa, two judges/referees Thabo Spampool and Ben Ncapayi were rushed to hospital on Saturday after Ndou beat them up during a weigh in that took place in Thohoyandou, Limpopo.

His boxing license was revoked due to a medical issue and he reacted violently. Ndou is now facing criminal charges.

Muditambi Ravel, BSA chairwoman, is disappointed by the boxer’s behaviour and explained what happened. “We revoked Ndou’s license because of medical issues, the BSA scheduled a meeting with him at 5 to discuss his license issue and when it was revoked he then exploded beating up the officials.

"He became violent saying the officials are ruining his life and they do not want him to succeed. They did lay charges and we letting the police to handle the matter from here on,” Ravel said.

Ndou is a former world champion who was in the ring against Floyd Mayweather back in 2003, arguably the best boxer of his generation. To share a ring with boxing greats like that it is inspiring, so it was no surprise that Ndou gained a large base. However, his reckless behaviour has seen his fan base dwindle.
