CSA acting chief quitsComment on this story
Johannesburg – Jacques Faul has tendered his resignation as acting CEO of Cricket SA (CSA), four months after replacing embattled chief Gerald Majola. CSA spokesman Altaaf Kazi said the cricket body had not yet accepted his resignation letter.
“The board has asked him to reconsider and that is what he is doing right now,” Kazi said on Thursday night.
“At this moment Jacques Faul is still the acting CEO of CSA.”
The SA Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), which reportedly had a copy of the resignation letter, said on its website that Faul believed certain board members had lost faith in his judgement.
According to the SABC, Faul believed this could lead to “further conflict” as he would not agree with the board in future.
Faul took over the job on an interim basis in March after Majola was suspended following a ministerial inquiry into bonuses paid to CSA staff. – Sapa
