Johannesburg - Imran Tahir is South Africa's top rated T20 bowler at seventh in the latest ICC player rankings released on Monday. T20 captain Faf du Plessis, meanwhile, is the highest placed Proteas batsman in the ranking at number four on the list.
Tahir is fresh off career-best figures of 4/21 in the first T20 International against England at Newlands in Cape Town.
Tahir, commonly referred to as the Proteas 'secret weapon', ended with 5/46 in his eight overs in the two match series which the hosts won 2-0. Du Plessis, as the leader of the Proteas in the shortest format of the game, made 25 and 22 not out as he led his side over the line in the final T20 against England at the Wanderers on Sunday.
With 758 ranking points, Du Plessis is 7 points behind third-ranked Alex Hales of England. - African News Agency (ANA)
