London - England’s cricketers, enjoying a three-day holiday break with their wives and girlfriends after the Cape Town Test, have been advised to avoid physical contact whenever possible.

The stomach virus that swept through the cricket media and corporate boxes during the match at Newlands is now affecting the touring squad and their partners.

Bowler Chris Jordan has been laid low for two days after gaining some much-needed playing time by turning out for an MCC touring team who have almost all been affected by the bug.

There is even the suggestion from inside the England team’s Cape Town base at the Vineyard Hotel that the players were advised by management not to canoodle with WAGs suffering from the quick-spreading virus.
