India were 462-6 in their first innings at tea after a rain-shortened session on the third day of the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Fatullah on Friday.

Resuming at the lunch score of 398-3, India added 64 runs in the 10.3 overs bowled after lunch before rain returned to the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali stadium.

Shakib Al Hasan trapped Murali Vijay leg-before for 150 and also bowled Ajinkya Rahane for 98 after the pair had put on 114 runs for the fourth wicket.

Vijay, who had earlier shared an opening partnership of 283 with Shikhar Dhawan (173), hit 12 boundaries and a six.

Rahane missed his fourth Test century by two runs when he was bowled by Shakib after smashing the previous two deliveries for boundaries.

The rain-hit Test saw just 56 of the stipulated 90 overs bowled on the opening day due to bad weather, while the entire second day's play was washed out. – AFP
