Stormers coach Robbie Fleck will continue to test his combinations in their last pre-season match against the Lions on Saturday.

Fleck named a 30-man squad on Thursday for the Newlands fixture (3pm kickoff), which will be their last Super Rugby warm-up game before they take on the Bulls at the same venue on February 25.

Saturday’s warm-up game will again feature rolling substitutions, just like their matches against the Cheetahs in Harare and the SWD Eagles in George last week, and Fleck said that the match against the Lions will be a good indicator of his side’s progress.

“We have worked hard over the past couple of months, so we want to put that into practice against the Lions, who were one of the form teams in the competition last year.

“It will be important for us to look at certain combinations and make sure that everyone has some good game time under their belts before the season gets under way,” he said.
