CAPE TOWN – Western Province Rugby Union president Thelo Wakefield said that their renewed sponsorship deal with DHL means "a helluva lot" to the union.

This week, DHL became the union's longest-standing title sponsor when they signed for a further four years with WP, extending their existing six-year deal with the union.

And Wakefield said that the union were very grateful for the sponsorship, and admitted that the increased amount allowed them to "breathe a bit".

"This is the longest association that we've had with a title sponsor. It means a helluva lot to Western Province," Wakefield said ahead of the Stormers team announcement in Bellville on Thursday.

"It's great for us to partner with a world-class company like DHL. It adds value to Western Province, and I hope we can add value to them."
