Johannesburg – Russia's Leonid Shvetsov will take part in the 2014 Comrades Marathon, running club Nedbank said on Monday.
Shvetsov will join the 18 000 competitors and run the 89-kilometre race at a relaxing pace, the athlete said.
Winner in 2007 and 2008, Shvetsov currently holds both the up and down records with time of five hours, 24 min, 49 sec (5:24:49) and down 5:20:49 respectively, having broken Bruce Fordyce's down record which stood for 22 years. – Sapa
