Chippa United have been charged with fielding an 'improperly registered' player, according to the Premier Soccer League (PSL), in an ongoing playoff debacle.
The PSL said on Friday the League's disciplinary committee had postponed the case until next week.
“Chippa United were charged for allegedly fielding an improperly registered player, Sandile Ndlovu, following a complaint made by Blackburn Rovers,” the PSL said in a statement.
“It is alleged that Chippa failed to submit a completed registration form of the player.
“They are also said to have submitted Ndlovu's contract which was allegedly not signed by him.”
The PSL has already postponed two matches in the promotion/relegation battle for a top-flight spot.
Santos defeated Thanda Royal Zulu 1-0 in the opening game on Wednesday, but following queries surrounding Ndlovu's status, the following two games were postponed.
The PSL said earlier in the week they hoped the matter would be sorted out by Sunday. – Sapa
