LONDON - Jermain Defoe is set to pocket a £6million signing-on fee and wages of £80,000 per week after agreeing terms with Bournemouth.
The 34-year-old will sign a two-year deal with the option of a third.
The Cherries have moved quickly to snap up their former loanee, who played with current boss Eddie Howe as a teenager, scoring 19 times in a year-long spell.
After his international recall earlier this year, Defoe wants to play regularly in the top flight to secure a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup.
