Cape Town - For the second time in a year, Liverpool’s proposed trip to the Mother City has been cancelled.

Ajax Cape Town received permission from the PSL to stage a fixture against the English Premier League club, but this time the Reds decided not to come.

The Cape club’s executive director Ari Efstathiou on Monday confirmed that the friendly would not take place, though he was unable to add any further details as he was engaged in meetings in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It’s another disappointment for the Liverpool fans in the city, especially because the team has had such a fantastic season.

Last year, the game was called off because Ajax failed to get permission from the PSL. This time, they had the go-ahead, but the English club, after initially being amenable to the trip, decided against it.
